Transforming PAMA’s visitor experience
Chamila is a Visitor Service Guide at the Peel Art Gallery Museum and Archives (PAMA). She began her journey as a volunteer, and her passion for art and history now drives her to assist and educate visitors about the exhibits showcased at PAMA.
Chamila takes pride in being an employee of a completely accessible organization. She shares how PAMA makes it convenient for visitors to independently enjoy art galleries and exhibitions through various accessible features, such as entrance ramps and elevators that connect all floors. Additionally, artifact labels are displayed in a way that makes them easy for everyone to read. The ramps throughout the Peel County Courthouse also enhance the overall visitor experience at PAMA.
Chamila feels honoured to work in an environment that empowers her and values her skills. Her role not only supports the mission of making art accessible to all but also fosters a welcoming and educational space for visitors. Friendly and eager-to-learn visitors further enrich her employment experience at PAMA.
Being an employee here makes me proud and honoured to say that PAMA is fully accessible.
