Youth and student employment
The Summer Student Program:
- Is for students enrolled in college or university or in technical or vocational trade schools.
- Provides employment from May 5 to August 29, 2025.
As a summer student, you’ll not only contribute to Peel’s community, but also work in an engaging and professional environment.
You’ll also:
- Earn a competitive hourly rate and vacation pay.
- Gain valuable experience.

To qualify for the Summer Student Program, you must:
- Be a full-time student enrolled in post-secondary program or entering full-time post-secondary studies in September 2025.
- Be legally eligible to work in Canada.
Some jobs might also require:
- A valid "G" Driver's licence in good standing.
- Administrative experience.
- Labour experience.
- CSA (Canadian Standards Association)-approved work boots.
- Tuberculosis (TB) testing or a Vulnerable Sector Check (or both).

Business support
In a business support role, your responsibilities may include:
- customer service
- financial or project co-ordination
- data entry
- records management
- reception
Operational support
In an operational support role, your responsibilities may include:
- customer service
- landscaping
- general cleaning and maintenance
- painting
Some specialized positions in civil engineering, health, social services, and marketing and communications may also be available.
Corporate Services
Corporate Services provides support services to other Peel Region departments and a few direct services to the public.

As a summer student in the Health Services Department, you’ll enjoy supporting various divisions such as:

- Integrated Business Support
- Community Access
Public Works
Public Works (PW) includes:
- Water
- Transportation

- Fleet Services
A portion of PW opportunities may include working outdoors.
Legislative Services
Support various divisions in Legislatives Services such as:
- Clerks
- Legal Services
- Procurement
- Real Property Asset Management (RPAM)

These timelines are approximate.
- January 31, 2025 - Posting expires
- February 2025 - Screening and interviewing (returning students don’t need an interview.)
- March 2025 - Offers will be extended and offer packages will be sent out
- May 5, 2025 - First day of work
- August 29, 2025 - Last day of work
