Youth and student employment
We offer summer employment from May to the end of August to students attending college, university, technical or vocational trade schools.
Through our Summer Student Program, you’ll:

To qualify for the Region of Peel Summer Student Program, you must be a full-time student enrolled in post-secondary program or entering full-time post-secondary studies in September 2024 and be legally eligible to work in Canada.
You may also need to meet other role-specific requirements such as:
- A valid "G" Driver's licence in good standing
- Administrative experience
- Labour experience
- CSA (Canadian Standards Association) approved work boots
- TB Testing and/or Vulnerable Sector Screening

Business support
In a business support role, your responsibilities may include:
- customer service
- financial or project co-ordination
- data entry
- records management
- reception
Operational support
In an operational support role, your responsibilities may include:
- customer service
- landscaping
- general cleaning and maintenance
- painting
Some specialized positions in civil engineering, health, social services, and marketing and communications may also be available.

Corporate Services Department
Corporate Services provides support services to other regional departments and a few direct services to the public. Employment opportunities may be available within Human Resources, Marketing and Communications, Finance, Real Property Asset Management, Legal Services, Service Excellence and Innovation, and Culture & Inclusion.
Health Services Department
As a summer student in the Health Services Department, you’ll enjoy supporting various divisions such as Family Health, Paramedic Services, Long Term Care, or Public Health.
Human Services Department
Work in the Human Services Department supports divisions such as Early Years and Child Care, Housing Operations, Integrated Business Support, and Community Access.
Public Works Department
Public Works includes the Water, Transportation, Waste Management, Operations Support, and Fleet Services divisions. A portion of our opportunities in this department may include working outdoors.
