    Dental care for Ontario seniors

    Program waitlist

    Due to overwhelming demand, there’s currently a waitlist to receive routine dental services in Peel. If you have a valid Ontario Seniors Dental Care Program card, call Peel Public Health at 905-799-7700 to add your name to the waitlist for the next available appointment.

     

    Good oral health is important for overall health, especially as we age. The Ontario Seniors Dental Care Program provides access to essential dental care for eligible low-income seniors 65 years or older. Learn what services are covered.

    Eligibility

    You can apply for the program if you:

    • Are 65 years or older.
    • Are a resident of Ontario.
    • Have an annual net income of $25,000 or less for a single person or a combined annual net income of $41,500 or less for a couple.
    • Have no access to any other form of dental benefits, apart from the Canadian Dental Care Plan, like private insurance or other government program.

    What you need

    • Your date of birth.
    • Valid Ontario address.
    • Social Insurance Number or Temporary Taxation Number.
    • To have filed your taxes last year.

    If you do not have a Social Insurance Number or did not file taxes last year a guarantor must help you apply by mail. Learn more about applying with a guarantor.

    How to apply

    There are 2 ways to apply to the program, online or by mail.

    Apply online

    Complete the online application form and provide the applicable eSignatures. 

    You can also:

    • Complete the online application form.
    • Print and sign the consent form.
    • Mail the signed consent form within 30 days to:

    Apply by mail

    • Download and print application form or pick up the form from one of the listed locations.
    • Complete and sign the application form.
    • Mail the signed application to:

    Couples applying to the program

    You need to apply for the program as an individual. A couple must complete 2 separate application forms if you both want to apply.

    Receiving dental care once approved

    Once your application has been approved, you will be mailed a welcome package and a dental card.

    When you receive your Ontario Seniors Dental Care Program card, call Peel Public Health at 905-799-7700 to add your name to the waitlist for the next available appointment.

    In Peel, the Ontario Seniors Dental Care Program services are mainly provided by our partner Community Health Centres. Your valid dental card must be presented at the time of appointment.
