Sanitary sewer construction

Notice of temporary road closure Conservation Drive. Project 15-2153

The Region of Peel has been working in your neighborhood to construct new sanitary sewers along Conservation Drive and Kennedy Road. This work is required to maintain and improve existing wastewater services.

At this stage in the project, the Region of Peel has finished tunnelling a new sanitary sewer under Conservation Drive. We will be connecting this new pipe to the existing sanitary sewer system west of Dawnridge Trail. A temporary road closure on Conservation Drive will be required to complete this work.

Traffic impacts

Conservation Drive will be closed to all through traffic from Hurontario Street to Kennedy Road North. This temporary road closure is expected to occur from October 17th until October 21st, 2022. (Please note: This road closure was originally planned to take place October 3rd to 7th and has been rescheduled.) During this time, a detour route will be clearly marked with road signs. Please see the attached map for the detour route. Residents who live on the street will have access to their homes. Access to businesses will be maintained. No through traffic will be allowed.

This road closure may cause traffic delays. We ask for your patience and will try to minimize any delays.

Safety during construction

Construction zones require extra caution to keep everyone safe – pedestrians, cyclists, drivers, and construction workers. When driving, walking, or biking through the construction area, please be aware of your surroundings, watch for construction crews and other road users, slow down, account for delays, and consider other routes if possible.
