Peel Region appoints Keith Medenblik as Director of Government Relations and Strategic Initiatives

BRAMPTON, ON (October 19, 2023) – Peel Region announces Keith Medenblik as Director of Government Relations and Strategic Initiatives and will bring heightened focus to Council’s advocacy on their priorities as well as working with the Peel Executive Team and our Directors to ensure key strategic initiatives continue to be supported. 

Keith will report directly to the Chief Administrative Officer, Gary Kent.

Keith has more than 25 years of experience in public affairs, government relations, policy development and issues management. He began his career with Peel in 2018 as Manager of External Relations and Strategic Public Policy, building strong connections with government and community stakeholders, and providing leadership and strategic advice on public policy initiatives. Prior to his time at Peel Region, Keith previously served in a number of progressive leadership roles with the Greater Toronto Airports Authority.

Since joining Peel Region, Keith has led his team in support of Peel’s advocacy efforts in an increasingly complex political environment. He has also been involved in a broad range of regional initiatives, including serving as a Command Advisor to the Regional Emergency Operations Centre (REOC), and as a member of the Mass Vaccination Program Leadership Team during the Region’s COVID-19 pandemic response.

In addition to his role with Peel Region, Keith is active in his community, serving as a Member and Past Chair of the Halton Hills Public Library Board, as well as a member of the Town’s Committee of Adjustment. Keith has also previously served as Director and Vice Chair, Policy of the Brampton Board of Trade.
