Peel Region announces Brian Gibson as Chief and Director of Paramedic Services
BRAMPTON, ON (May 28, 2024) – Peel Region has announced Brian Gibson as Chief and Director of Paramedic Services, the second largest such service in Ontario, serving 1.5 million people.
Chief Gibson reports directly to the Commissioner of Health Services, Nancy Polsinelli. In this role, Chief Gibson will lead strategic direction in providing the community with the highest quality of care through the delivery of various programs - pre-hospital emergency response, community safety and relations, and community paramedicine.
Peel Region is an innovative leader in pre-hospital paramedic care, working with hospitals to address off-load delays, addressing 9-1-1 misuse, improving ambulance dispatch, and enhancing community paramedicine to contribute solutions in caring for frail seniors in their homes.
Chief Gibson provides Peel Region with over 34 years of progressive paramedic leadership experience, which includes Halton Region Paramedic Service, before joining the Region of Peel in 2014 as Deputy Chief and serving as acting Chief since 2023.
