Peel receives prestigious awards for financial reporting

Brampton, ON - (Mar. 21, 2025) – Peel has received Outstanding Achievement awards for its 2023 Annual Financial Report and 2023 Popular Annual Financial Report from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA). 

The Canadian Award for Financial Reporting (CANFR) recognizes excellence in government accounting and financial reporting and was established to encourage municipal governments throughout Canada to publish high-quality financial reports. The 2023 Annual Financial Report has been judged by impartial Canadian Review Committee members to meet the high standards of the program, including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” designed to clearly communicate Peel’s financial story and to motivate the community to read the report.

The Popular Annual Financial Report Award (PAFR) recognizes outstanding achievement in summarizing financial, investment, and statistical information from the comprehensive report.
