Peel Public Health enhances infant feeding support for families
BRAMPTON, ON (March 27, 2025) – Every year, there are more than 15,000 births in Peel. In 2024 alone, Peel Public Health proudly provided infant feeding support to families more than 5,500 times.
To ensure Peel can continue to support families and set the stage for lifelong health and well-being, in-person clinic services have been expanded at two locations:
- Brampton Baby Feeding Support Clinic at 10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton;
- Meadowvale Baby Feeding Support Clinic at 6975 Meadowvale Town Centre Circle, Mississauga.
Clinic appointments are available through referral, based on individual needs.
Peel Public Health is committed to providing inclusive and welcoming infant feeding support programs to every family, including:
- Telephone consultations with public health nurses who can help families make informed decisions about infant feeding. They can answer questions on various topics, including baby’s feeding patterns, mother’s milk supply and safe formula preparation.
- In-person home visits for parents who need hands-on support for latching, breastfeeding positions and more.
- Peer-to-peer telephone support, in several languages, through the Breastfeeding Companions program, for up to three months after birth.
Peel Public Health is committed to improving the health and well-being of all residents in Peel region by providing programs, services, and education that promote health, prevent disease and protect the community. Peel Public Health’s mandate aligns with Peel’s vision to build healthy, safe, and vibrant communities for all.
