New Year, New Events at PAMA
Brampton, ON. (January 12, 2023) – The Peel Art Gallery, Museum and Archives (PAMA) invites you to visit us in historic downtown Brampton to experience our new 2023 events and explore our newly renovated gallery and museum spaces.
This Winter, PAMA will start re-opening its historic spaces, as we complete a renovation project to improve air flow and improve visitor experience in our buildings:
- The Historic Jail re-opens on Monday, Feb. 20.
- Manning Square will re-open with a new exhibit called Generations Lost: Healing the Legacy of Residential Schools on Monday, Feb. 20.
- The museum second floor gallery space reopens with a Sikh Heritage Month community exhibit on Apr.1.
- The Peel Archives re-opens in the Spring.
PAMA Kids P.A. Day
Monday, Jan. 23, 10 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Spend your P.A. Day in downtown Brampton! Wander through our historic spaces while enjoying free admission, explore our unique exhibitions and create art inspired by the season. Take inspiration from our We Are Hockey exhibit and bring your own skates to take a spin on the unique ice rink across the street at Gage Park. Then, warm up with a hot beverage and a snack at locally owned Segovia Coffee Co.
Paint the Town with PAMA and Brampton Library
Thursday, Jan. 26, 7 - 8:30 p.m.
Enjoy a night on the town to paint, learn, and socialize! Learn how to wrap and weave yarn using cardboard to make winter designs. Then, use watercolour paints to experiment with different textures. All materials will be provided.
This is a free program held in partnership with Brampton Library, hosted at PAMA. Registration is required.
Meet and Greet with Randip Janda from Hockey Night in Canada Punjabi Edition + Sunday FUNday Activity
Sunday, Jan. 29
- Drop-in activity, 1 - 5 p.m.
- Meet and greet, 3:30 - 5 p.m.
Visit the We Are Hockey exhibition between 3:30 - 5 p.m. and meet Randip Janda, the host of Hockey Night in Canada: Punjabi Edition and colour commentator for Vancouver Canucks game broadcasts on Sportsnet 650.
And there's more! Create your very own artwork inspired by the exhibition Facing Claude Cahun & Marcel Moore. Admission is free.
