March break fun is back at PAMA

BRAMPTON, ON (March 1, 2023) – March Break is back at Peel Art Gallery, Museum and Archives (PAMA) and features a full week of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics (STEAM) activities! Join us in-person for creative STEAM projects, special guests, and unique exhibitions in our historic spaces, all included with the price of admission.

Each day, join us for a STEAM instructor-led family fun activity from March 13 – 17, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

  • Monday: Discover the science behind magic with mysterious prints
  • Tuesday: Investigate technology with binary code keychains
  • Wednesday: Learn about aerodynamics while engineering your own kite
  • Thursday: Colour theory and art collide with a unique painting technique as you create a pointillism skyscape
  • Friday: Use mathematics to design your own colourful robot

The Amazing Corbin

Monday, March 13, 11 – 11:45 and 1 – 1:45 p.m.

Be astounded by professional magician the Amazing Corbin as he performs a family friendly magic show. This interactive show is fun for everyone!

Bubbleology Featuring "Miss T the Bubble Queen"

Wednesday, March 15, 11 – 11:45 a.m. and 1 – 1:45 p.m.

Where the impossible becomes possible with bubbles! Discover and be amazed by the science and art of the beautiful bubble. Experience a bubble cube, a tornado in a bubble, bubbles spinning around bubbles, a person inside an actual bubble and more, all while learning the impossible possibilities of the wonderful and natural bubble. Miss T has been a bubbleologist for over 20 years and has been seen on YTV, Treehouse TV, Canada's Got Talent, CBC Kids, TVO Kids and The Wiggles.

Friday, March 17, 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. and 1 – 2 p.m.

Participate in a fun, hands-on STEM workshop and discover what happens when science meets art. Explore perception as you use shadow, colour, motion, and light to create art from science. You'll make a puppet, a spinning top and a kaleidoscope, as well as design your own galaxy.

Space is limited for all events and available on a first come first serve basis, so arrive early to avoid disappointment.

Activities and event are recommended for children ages 4 – 12, guardians must accompany children. All events are included with the price of admission.

PAMA Youth Council Presents Movie Night in the Courthouse

Thursday March 16, 6:45 pm – 7:45 pm

The PAMA Youth Council invites teens and youth to its first Movie Night! Join us for a free viewing of National Film Board short films covering a variety of themes.
Food will be available for purchase. Pre-registration is required.

What If: A Scented Experience with Tracy Pepe

Saturday March 18, 2-3 pm

Join PAMA and Tracy Pepe for a family-oriented scent experience! This March is all about STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math). Did you know that scent designers use STEAM learning every day?

Using scent derived from natural plant essential oils, Tracy Pepe will walk you through an innovative and engaging opportunity to feel and smell happy. Participants will have the opportunity to take part in a guided PAMA tour and scent game while learning more about smells along the way.

Space is limited and pre-registration is required. This event is included with price of PAMA admission. Admission can be purchased in-person on the day of your visit. Members are free. Recommended for ages 7 - 13. Children must be accompanied by a guardian.
