DIY Studio Time 
Saturdays and Sundays, 1:00 - 4:30 p.m.

Explore exhibitions and connect over self-guided art projects that inspire creativity. Do it yourself studio time activities change every month. 

December activity: Get hands-on with a textile craft inspired by Newfoundland's traditional hooked rugs and connected to the coastal scenes on display in the new David Blackwood exhibition.

Recommended for ages 5 and up, guardians must accompany children. This drop-in is included in general admission. Free for members.

Bonus DIY Activity - Cozy Corner

Don't miss the chance to get creative in the PAMA Lounge this December. Decorate your own set of cozy mittens and place them on display for all visitors to see this holiday season!

Winter Break Studio Time: Cozy Creations! 
Dec. 27 - Jan. 3, 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Looking for a toasty escape this winter break? Enjoy a day out at PAMA and get hands-on with cozy creations! Savour winter's charm from the comfort of our art studio and take part in projects led by our team of educators. From comfort food crafts to yarn art, immerse yourself in the heartwarming spirit of the season as you create, learn, and share in the joy of making.

  • Friday, Dec. 27Fairytales and Apples: Enjoy the fairytale charms of apples. Join artist Meegan Lim for an apple craft inspired by her Apple a Day banners at PAMA.  
  • Monday, Dec. 30 – Toasty Textiles: Yarn art inspired by the warm knitwear of Newfoundland. 
  • Thursday, Jan. 2 – Comfort Food: Take part in fake-food making inspired by our favourite comfort foods. 
  • Friday, Jan. 3 – Wintery Watercolour: Design a frosty card with watercolour and salt.

Winter Break at PAMA: A Day of Folk Tales and Music
Dec. 28, 10:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Compliment your winter holidays with a day of coziness and family fun. Enjoy a captivating collection of folktales performed by professional storyteller Laxmi Balaji, centered on themes of community and family. Each of Laxmi’s performances is filled with enchanting stories, lively rhymes, and joyful songs that will transport you to magical worlds while celebrating the spirit of togetherness. Don’t worry if you miss the performance. Laxmi will host three storytelling sessions throughout the day!

Continue the cozy escape and immerse yourself in the whimsical tales performed by balladeers from the Brampton Folk Club, including adventures of Robin Hood put to song. Then, create your own homey jigsaw puzzle inspired by works in PAMA’s Art Gallery.
