All Aboard October: New Railway Exhibit, Celebration of Latin Heritage Month, Halloween Fun and More
BRAMPTON, ON (September 25, 2024) – This October, PAMA invites you to travel through time and explore Peel's first railways with the new All Aboard! exhibit. Additionally, Unveiling Ability: Empowerment Through Art Exhibit invites visitors to enjoy powerful artwork by artists living with disabilities, created in partnership with Brampton Caledon Community Living. Also, be sure to uncover the ancient art of a Tea Leaf reading, dive into vibrant traditions of Latin American Heritage month, and take a journey to the Middle East with a musical ensemble performance. Don’t miss these exciting events!

Unveiling Ability: Empowerment Through Art

An inspiring collection of quilts, wall-hangings, and paintings created by the artists of Brampton Caledon Community Living. They empower people living with disabilities to lead enriched and meaningful lives and to fully participate in their community.

All Aboard! The Railways of Peel
Oct. 5, 2024 - Oct. 12, 2025
Travel through time to explore Peel’s first railways in the 1850s. Learn about their importance in the life of local communities, their decline as they competed with highways, and how railways have once again become central elements in the life and commerce of Peel.
In partnership with railway historians Ralph Beaumont and Thomas McIlwraith.
Programs and Events
DIY Studio Time
Saturdays and Sundays, 1 - 4:30 p.m.
Explore exhibitions and connect over self-guided art projects that inspire creativity. Do-it-yourself studio time activities change every month.
October activity: Try your hand at paper quilt pattern design inspired by the collection of quilts highlighted in Empowerment Through Art - Brampton Caledon Community Living.
Recommended for ages 5 and up, guardians must accompany children. This drop-in is included in general admission. Free for members.
Doors Open Brampton
Oct. 5, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Join PAMA for Doors Open 2024 and explore our heritage buildings that now serve as community spaces. Discover archival records, historical objects, and diverse artwork while enjoying cultural programs. Celebrate this year's theme, "Adaptive Reuse", and see how PAMA connects Peel Region’s past with the present.
Public: $17.50, Members: $15. Designed for Ages 16+. Registration required.
Tea Leaf Reading Workshop with Cathy Skidmore
Oct. 10, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m
Enjoy a cozy fall evening at PAMA with tea leaf reading by intuitive healer and tea leaf reader Cathy Skidmore. Explore the power of intuition, gain clarity on your life journey, and then complement your new tea leaf reading skills with a tea-stain art session led by a PAMA educator.
Public: $17.50, Members: $15. Designed for Ages 16+. Registration required.
October PA Day at PAMA - Bow Wow Bootcamp
Oct. 11, 10 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Enjoy a day of tail-wagging fun at PAMA during a guided family program sparked by the exhibition Oh My Dog! In a fun crafting session, create your own puppy ears, and burn off energy with our family-friendly Bow Wow Bootcamp.
Public: $8.50, Members: $6.50. Recommended for ages 5 to 12. Guardians must accompany children. Registration required.

Latin American Heritage Month with Hispanic Canadian Arts and Cultural Association (HCACA)
Oct. 19, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Move to the rhythm of Bolero, Cha-Cha, Salsa and more with LatinTrain Band, then enjoy a creative exploration of culture and identity through the Hands & Roots art workshop led by Mississauga based artist Carla Gonzalez-Casanova.
Included with general admission. Registration required for the art workshop as space is limited.
A Journey to the Middle East, Musical Ensemble Performance
Oct. 24, 7:30 - 8:30 p.m.
A Journey to the Middle East is a musical program by Maple Arts, directed by Manar Naeem and Lamees Audeh and featuring musicians from the Canadian Arabic Orchestra. Enjoy a spectacular journey through the rich musical styles and rhythms of Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, Tunisia, Iraq, Turkey, and Azerbaijan in a memorable instrumental performance.
Public: $20, Members: $17. Includes general admission. Registration is required.
Halloween at the Boo-seum: Monster Pets!
Oct. 26, 10:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.
This Halloween, celebrate little monsters at PAMA! Register for an animal meet-and-greet with Pawsitively Pets, then drop into the studio from 10:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. to create your own companion in our monster-making laboratory.
Learn more about meet-and-greet times between 11 a.m. - 2:45 p.m.
Included with general admission. Free for members. Pre-registration required for animal meet-and-greet is required as space is limited.
