Affordable Family Fun at PAMA this August!
Brampton, ON (July 26, 2023) - This August, the Peel Art Gallery, Museum and Archives (PAMA) in downtown Brampton has affordable family fun covered. Visit PAMA for just $10 for two adults and up to five kids and tour exhibitions and create! Drop-in on Tuesdays and Thursdays during August and Be a Detective, explore PAMA and solve the mystery and create your own art. On weekends, discover PAMA’s do-it-yourself (DIY) Studio time where you can sketch a still life masterpiece using traditional art techniques. Also don't miss PAMA's Sunday FUNday on Sunday, Aug. 27, where you can drop into an instructor-led creative activity and make your very own cityscape landscape!

Be a Detective: drop-in family activities

Calling all art and history sleuths, Be A Detective is back by popular demand! Explore PAMA, solve the mystery and create your own artworks. Get ready to test your inner museum detective skills. Don’t forget to get your detective passport stamped each time you complete a mission. Complete four activities this summer to be entered to win a prize!

- Aug. 3 - Use chemistry in art.
- Aug. 8 - Design your own landscape.
- Aug. 10 - Record your own piece of history.
- Aug. 15 - Make your own summer bouquet.
- Aug. 17 - Create a multi-media artwork.
- Aug. 22 - Design a mosaic collage.
- Aug. 24 - See how science can be used in art.
- Aug. 29 - Make art inspired by the historic architecture.
- Aug. 31 - Create your own 3D landscape.
Recommended for children ages 5 – 12, guardians must accompany children. These drop-ins are included in general admission. Members are free.

Modern Batik Workshop with Deon Best (18+)
Saturday, Aug. 12, 1 – 4:30 p.m.
Explore the East African fabric art of Modern Batik with Bampton artist Deon Best. Batik is an art form that uses wax and dye to create designs on fabric. Discover this amazing technique and design your own one-of-a-kind artwork! Enjoy an afternoon adventure creating landscapes imagined or inspired by the art gallery exhibition Yours to Discover: Sights/Sites of Peel Region. Learn more and register.
Forest Bathing *Great for all ages*
Thursday Aug. 24, 3:30 – 6:30 p.m.
Discover a practice that brings people closer to nature and supports healing and wellness through natural environments. Forest therapy is inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku, which translates to "forest bathing." Experience the benefits of slow-paced wandering in nature with a trained forest therapy guide on this guided journey. Learn more and register.

Drop-in and engage with art through special instructor-led activities that are fun for the whole family the last Sunday of each month! August's activity: Visit Yours to Discover: Sights/Sites of Peel Region and create a perspective cityscape.
