Wellness Response and Assistance Program

Free and confidential support is available to all Ontario Works clients in Peel.

The Wellness Response and Assistance Program (WRAP) offers mental health and addiction support to individuals and families, in-person or virtually. The support includes but are not limited to:

Several community-based non-profit organizations offer free mental health and addiction support. You can call or email any of the agencies listed here if you’re an Ontario Works client seeking help.

If you need help with transportation or child care costs, please ask your Ontario Works Caseworker to request financial support.

Aims to support the mental health and well-being of clients who receive social assistance such as Ontario Works (OW).

AWO Refugee and Immigrant Services

Comprehensive support to refugee & immigrant clients, employing a range of services such as one-on-one support, informal counseling, outreach, ongoing assessment, goal planning & referrals. Responding to crisis situations by developing personalized care plans for vulnerable clients who have escaped war & persecution, emphasizing the fostering of independence & healthy lifestyles. Creating safe spaces for victims, leading educational programs on various forms of violence & trauma & providing transitional support, referrals, interpretation & translation services. Services are available in Dari, Farsi, Arabic, Urdu & Somali.



Catholic Family Services Peel Dufferin

Offers multi-service counseling to individuals, couples, and families from diverse communities. The agency offers comprehensive support, counseling, and therapy to help deal with emotional distress and improve well-being.

Caledon Community Services

The Community Supports Program offers a wide range of resources targeting mental health & basic needs. These including mental health counselling, food support, utility subsidies, recreation subsides, transportation, seasonal holiday & back to school support, system navigation & advocacy. The purpose of the Community Supports Program is to support Caledon individuals & families to improve the quality of their lives by reducing poverty, addressing life challenges & becoming independent.

Centre for Grief and Healing

Offers support to clients experiencing grief from losing a loved one to suicide, overdose, or a sudden traumatic loss.

The centre offers both open and closed grief support groups, individual peer support, and free educational workshops.

Cornerstone Family Counselling Services

Cornerstone Family Counselling Services (CFCS) is a non-denominational & non-profit counselling center in Mississauga offering professional & compassionate counselling services in English & Arabic for adults, children/youth, couples, & families, regardless of religious affiliation, cultural heritage, socioeconomic background or sexual orientation.



Free For All Foundation

The agency offers inclusive wellness programs that focuses on marginalized families, and individuals. They address social issues affecting mental health and wellness, employment, housing, education, and child care to empower youth, seniors, and families.


Glorious Women of Wonders

Provides dedicated mental health support including one-on-one counseling, peer support programs, and programs that encourage a healthy diet and lifestyle.


Hope 24/7

Provides wellness programs such as counselling, therapy, and trauma-informed clinical interventions to help victims of domestic abuse.


Indus Community Services

Offers in-person and virtual personalized mental health counseling, and support sessions to social assistance clients. This includes immigrants, newcomers, refugees, and racialized populations in the South Asian community.

Serves clients in Brampton and Mississauga.

Helps clients struggling with mental health and addiction issues and who were involved with the criminal justice system.

Offers comprehensive "one-stop" services for mental health, substance use, primary care, education, employment, training, housing, mindfulness, self-care, socialization, and more.


Peel Multicultural Council

Providing a safe & welcoming environment for people living with mental health challenges particularly those on social assistance/Ontario works/unemployed & youth. Experienced & trained staff to offer emotional, social & practical support by offering short term counselling, including:

  • Referrals to mental health supports for clients with acute needs
  • Group sessions
  • Planned referrals for enhanced access to employment & training, accelerating digital literacy Assist with mental health issues of refugees in hotels

Provides mental health and addiction related support to individuals and their families that receive social assistance.

REST Centres

Offers therapy, professional counselling, and support emotional healing to reduce the stigma around mental health and improve the well-being of the Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), LGTBQ+, and marginalized youth.

Roots Community Services Inc.

Provides programs and services for children, youth, women, seniors, and families in Peel. Their inclusive programs are designed to support and empower individuals to overcome life challenges.


VHA Home HealthCare

Focuses on parents to maintain mental wellness, independence, and stability.

The centre offers round-the-clock mental health support to parent(s) with children 0-4 years who require help with children while they attend services, including therapy and treatment sessions. They also provide parenting classes, skills training, and development.
