Project 24-2151 - December 3, 2025 update
Streets affected: Hansen Road South, Orenda Road, Rutherford Road South, Clark Boulevard and Clarence Street
Field investigation notice
As part of the Flow | Central Brampton Program, Peel Region is investigating future rehabilitation of the watermain and sanitary sewer system in your area.
- Watermains are underground pipes that bring tap water from our water treatment facility to your area.
- Sanitary sewers are underground pipes that carry wastewater from your home or business to a water resource recovery facility. Wastewater is created when water goes down a drain or toilet.
As pipes age and our population grows, we need to replace them to provide you with high-quality water and wastewater services.
We will be in your neighbourhood conducting field investigations along Hansen Road South, Orenda Road, Rutherford Road South, Clark Boulevard and Clarence Street.
- We will survey your street and use temporary spray paint or flags on roads, driveways, and lawns to locate underground gas, hydro, and cable.
- We may drill holes in the road or municipal right-of-way to collect soil samples, determine ground conditions, or confirm utility locations. The municipal right-of-way includes the street and the municipal-owned land between the street and the water service box, a small, round, metal valve located outside on the property line between your home or business and the road.
- We may install small monitoring wells in the road or municipal right-of-way to measure groundwater levels to design the work safely.
- We will take pictures and videos to help restore the area as close as possible to its former condition, after construction takes place.
Activities in all areas except Clarence Street will be completed by end of January 2026. Work along Clarence Street is expected to take place between December 5, 2025 and April 2026.
Consultant working hours
The work will be completed by J.D. Barnes Ltd. and EnVision Consultants Ltd. under contract to Peel Region. Working hours are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Friday. These hours are consistent with local municipal bylaws.
Traffic impacts
There may be minor traffic disruptions during these activities. If this is needed, we will place signs giving directions.
