Project 24-2142
Streets affected: Queen Street West from Royal West Drive to Mississauga Road
Pre-design field investigation
Peel Region is planning future replacement of the sanitary sewer system in your area. Sanitary sewers are underground pipes that carry wastewater from your home or business to a water resource recovery facility. Wastewater is created when water goes down a drain or toilet. As pipes age and our population grows, we need to replace them to provide you with high-quality wastewater services.
We will be in your neighbourhood conducting field investigations along Queen Street West, from Royal West Drive to Mississauga Road, in two parts:
- First, we will survey your street and use temporary spray paint or flags on roads, driveways, and lawns to locate underground utilities including gas, hydro, and cable. (May 5-23, 2025)
- Second, we may drill holes in the road or municipal right-of-way to collect soil samples, determine ground conditions, or confirm utility locations. The municipal right-of-way includes the street and the municipal-owned land between the street and the water service box, a small, round, metal valve located outside on the property line between your home or business and the road. (June 23 to July 18, 2025)
- A traffic management plan will be used to help minimize traffic disruptions. Additionally, while work is underway near Mississauga Road, a police officer will be on site to direct vehicles and pedestrians as needed.
- During this work, we will take pictures and videos to help restore the area as close as possible to its former condition, after construction takes place.
We expect these activities to take place between May 5 and July 18, 2025.
Consultant working hours
The work will be completed by multiVIEW under contract to Peel Region. Working hours are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Friday. These hours are consistent with local municipal bylaws.
Traffic impacts
There may be minor traffic disruptions during these activities. If this is needed, we will place signs giving directions.
