Project 23-2272 – April 10, 2026 update
Streets affected: Countryside Drive between Clarkway Drive and approximately 700m east
Advance notice
Peel Region will be installing new watermain and sanitary sewer in your area within the next two years, as shown on the attached map. Watermains are underground pipes that bring tap water from our water treatment facility to your area. As our population grows, we need to build larger watermains to provide you with high-quality water. Sanitary sewers are underground pipes that carry wastewater from your home or business to a water resource recovery facility. Wastewater is created when water goes down a drain or toilet. As our population grows, we need to build larger sewers to provide you with high quality wastewater services.
Important note
Construction will take place in the municipal right-of-way. This includes the street and the municipal-owned land between the street and the water service box, a small, round, metal valve located outside on the property line between your home or business and the road. This work may impact the bottom of your driveway and the area around the sidewalk. We recommend that you delay major landscaping or driveway paving until construction is completed.
Before construction begins
- We’ll use spray paint or flags on roads, driveways, and lawns to locate underground gas, hydro, and cable.
- We may drill holes in the road or municipal right-of-way to collect soil samples, determine ground conditions, or confirm utility locations.
- We’ll take pictures and videos to help restore the area as close as possible to its former condition, after construction.
We expect these activities to take place in Spring 2026.
We’ll deliver more detailed information closer to the start of construction.
