Project 22-2255 - September 16, 2025 update
Streets affected: Queensway West
Pre-design field investigation
Peel Region is planning future improvement of the watermain and sanitary sewer system along Queensway West.
- Watermains are underground pipes that bring tap water from our water treatment facility to your area.
- Sanitary sewers are underground pipes that carry wastewater from your home or business to a water resource recovery facility. Wastewater is created when water goes down a drain or toilet.
As pipes age and our population grows, we need to replace them to provide you with high-quality water and wastewater services.
We will be in your area conducting field investigations along Queensway West, between Hurontario Street and Stillmeadow Road.
- We will survey your street and use temporary spray paint or flags on roads, driveways, and lawns to locate underground gas, hydro, and cable.
- We may drill holes in the road or municipal right-of-way to collect soil samples, determine ground conditions, or confirm utility locations. The municipal right-of-way includes the street and the municipal-owned land between the street and the water service box, a small, round, metal valve located outside on the property line between your home or business and the road.
- We will take pictures and videos to help restore the area as close as possible to its former condition, after construction takes place.
We expect these activities to take place between September 22 and November 30, 2025.
Consultant working hours
The work will be completed by Atkins Realis under contract to Peel Region. Working hours are between 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Friday.
Traffic impacts
