Streets affected: Queensway East and Stanfield Road
Traffic impacts notice
Peel Region has identified the need for upgrades to the sanitary sewer and watermain system along The Queensway. As part of this program, we will be replacing a section of large diameter watermain at Stanfield Road and Queensway East.
At this stage, a temporary road closure and turning lane reduction will be required to complete this work. Detour maps are attached to this notice showing the routes that will be marked on site with signage to access the area in consideration of the closure and lane reduction.
Traffic impacts
- Stanfield Road will be closed for through traffic north of the Queensway East, as shown on the attached map. Additionally, there will be a left turn lane reduction in the westbound lanes on Queensway East, at Stanfield Road. It will not be possible to turn left when driving westbound on Queensway East to go south onto Stanfield Road. This closure and turning restriction will take place from February 9th, 2026, into Summer 2027.
- The bike lanes on Stanfield Road will be closed just south of the Queensway; cyclists will be required to dismount and follow pedestrian signage marked on site around the working areas.
