Project 19-2215 - October 22, 2025 update
Streets affected: Lakeshore Road from Jack Darling Memorial Park to Elmwood Avenue, Wesley Avenue, Pine Avenue and Front Street North
Project update
Peel Region will be installing a new watermain and large sanitary sewer along Lakeshore Road between Jack Darling Memorial Park and Elmwood Avenue, and a new sanitary sewer on Wesley Avenue from Park Street to Lakeshore Road. We will also be replacing a section of watermain between Ibar Way and Shawnmarr Road.
To complete this work, we will need a working compound (construction site) on the south side of the boulevard of Lakeshore Road West, at Jack Darling Memorial Park. This working compound will be the primary working area for the project and will be used to dig a tunnel and install the new large trunk sewer on Lakeshore Road.
Because it is the primary working area for the project, it will be required for most of the project time.
The Lakeshore Road West Trail (multi-use trail on the south side of Lakeshore Road) will be re-routed around the working compound while is it in place. The trail detour is shown on the attached map.
Schedule update
We have put up temporary fencing along the perimeter of the working area and set up tree protection. We will then begin to prune and remove trees as required to complete our work and in accordance with the City of Mississauga's Tree By-laws. Once the project is complete, we will replace the trees removed.
We anticipate setting up compound walls as early as October 27, 2025, and the detour of the Lakeshore Road West Trail as early as November 10, 2025. The Lakeshore Road West trail will remain open throughout the duration of the project.
These dates are approximate and may change due to weather and other unexpected events.
