Project 19-2215 - November 28, 2025 update
Art installation
Peel Region is proud to partner with the Mississauga Arts Council to spotlight local artists throughout our project area. The artwork murals that will be on display will celebrate the character, culture, and history of Mississauga, particularly the vibrant Lakeshore corridor where this work is taking place. Together, we aim to bring community voices and creative expressions into the heart of our infrastructure projects.
Our first art mural will be displayed on the hoarding at our construction site along Lakeshore Road near Jack Darling Memorial Park. The mural is called Mino-nawae-indawaewin / Living in Harmony. We will have its official unveiling on Friday, December 5, 2025, at approximately 11:30 a.m.
We hope you enjoy this small preview of the art mural that's included here.

Artist: Nyle Miigizi Johnston
Artist statement: "Mino-nawae-indawaewin / Living in Harmony": It is our responsibility to walk in balance on this earth. We are to show love and respect to all our co-tenants of creation. Our actions can influence all life that may dwell in the sky, land, water and underground realms. This mural represents the relationship we have to creation and how beautifully we are interwoven to this quilt that we call life on this planet.
