Project 19-2215 – March 16, 2026 update
Streets affected: Lakeshore Road West at Front Street North
Project update
Peel Region will be installing a new watermain and large sanitary sewer along Lakeshore Road between Jack Darling Memorial Park and Elmwood Avenue, and a new sanitary sewer on Wesley Avenue from Park Street to Lakeshore Road West.
We will also be replacing a section of watermain between Ibar Way and Shawnmarr Road.
Traffic impacts
To complete this work, lane reductions will be required on Front Street North at the Lakeshore Road West intersection.
- Front Street North will be reduced to a single lane between Lakeshore Road West and John Street North
- Northbound traffic will be permitted from Lakeshore Road West onto Front Street North.
- Southbound traffic from Front Street North to Lakeshore Road West will be detoured via John Street. See the attached map for the detour route.
- These impacts will take place from March 16, 2026, until March 31, 2026. Please expect delays and choose alternate routes.
- Drivers exiting the plaza on Front Street North will have turn left and follow detour to access Lakeshore Road.
- Access to homes and businesses will be maintained. No street parking is permitted on Front Street North within the working area.
- MiWay Route 14 will be adjusted during this time as per the attached Service Update Notice.
