Project 19-2215 – June 25, 2026 update
Streets affected: Lakeshore Road at Jack Darling Memorial Park
Project update
Peel Region will be installing a new watermain and large sanitary sewer along Lakeshore Road between Jack Darling Memorial Park and Elmwood Avenue, and a new sanitary sewer on Wesley Avenue from Park Street to Lakeshore Road West. We will also be replacing a section of watermain between Ibar Way and Shawnmarr Road. For more information on the project, visit our project webpage.
Noise and Work Schedule
Within our construction compound at Jack Darling Park, the City of Mississauga has granted a noise by-law exemption to allow tunneling work between 7:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m., beginning July 20, 2026, until summer of 2028.
Overnight work will primarily involve tunnelling operations. These activities will generate lower noise levels than typical above-ground daytime construction. Intermittent noise may still occur; however, measures will be in place to minimize impacts on nearby residents.
Construction Safety
Construction zones require extra caution to keep everyone safe. Be aware of your surroundings when driving, walking, or biking near the construction area. Watch for construction crews and other road users, slow down, and consider other routes. Visit work zone safety for more information.
