Project 19-2215 – July 21, 2026 update
Streets affected: Front Street North at Lakeshore Road, Marina Park
Project update
Peel Region will be installing a new watermain and large sanitary sewer along Lakeshore Road between Jack Darling Memorial Park and Elmwood Avenue, and a new sanitary sewer on Wesley Avenue from Park Street to Lakeshore Road West. We will also be replacing a section of watermain between Ibar Way and Shawnmarr Road. For more information on the project, visit our project webpage.
Upcoming work
We will remobilize to our working compound (construction site) on the east side of the boulevard on Front Street North. This compound will be an important working area for the project and will be used to dig tunnels and install the new large trunk sewer and watermain on Lakeshore Road West.
We expect to be fully remobilized as early as July 28, 2026, to Fall 2028. This construction site is shown on the attached map.
Traffic impacts
- Marina Park North, the parking lot, and the sidewalk on the east side of the roadway will be closed due to the construction site.
- The bus stop on the east side of Front Street North, south of the John Street intersection, will be relocated to north of the High Street intersection during this time.
Construction safety
Construction zones require extra caution to keep everyone safe. Be aware of your surroundings when driving, walking, or biking near the construction area. Watch for construction crews and other road users, slow down, and consider other routes. Visit work zone safety for more information.
