Project 19-2215 – April 20, 2026 update
Street affected: Pine avenue south
Temporary road closure
Peel Region will be installing a new watermain and large sanitary sewer along Lakeshore Road between Jack Darling Memorial Park and Elmwood Avenue, and a new sanitary sewer on Wesley Avenue from Park Street to Lakeshore Road. We will also be replacing a section of watermain between Ibar Way and Shawnmarr Road. For more information on the project, review the project webpage.
To complete this work, a working compound (construction site) will be set up on the south side of Lakeshore Road West, on Pine Avenue South. This compound is essential for tunneling and installing the new large sewer along Lakeshore Road. Review the map of the road closure.
Traffic impacts
- Pine Avenue South will be temporarily closed at Lakeshore Road West.
- Northbound traffic from Pine Avenue South and Southbound traffic from Lakeshore Road West onto Pine Avenue South will be detoured via Maple Avenue South as shown on the detour map.
- These impacts will take place from April 20, 2026, until fall 2027. Please expect delays and choose alternate routes. These dates are approximate and may change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.
- Access to the Shoppers Drug Mart on Lakeshore Road West and on Pine Avenue South will be maintained.
Vibrations, noise and dust
You could feel slight vibrations while we dig deep into the ground within our construction compound. You may also experience some noise and dust from construction work.
Our contractors regular working hours are 7AM to 7PM Monday to Friday and we will regularly clean the area to maintain the environment. We monitor both noise and vibrations to ensure they are kept within allowable limits.
Project open house
Join us for an upcoming open house, where we will showcase the ongoing watermain and sanitary sewer project, providing an overview of what to expect during construction and when work is expected in your area. This provides an opportunity to meet the project team and get any questions answered.

- When: Wednesday, April 15, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
- Where: Port Credit Royal Canadian Legion, 35 Front Street North, Mississauga, L5H 2E1. Parking is available at this location.
Construction safety
Construction zones require extra caution to keep everyone safe. Be aware of your surroundings when driving, walking, or biking near the construction area. Watch for construction crews and other road users, slow down, and consider other routes.
