Street affected: Lakeshore Road at Elmwood Avenue North
Project update
Peel Region will be installing a new watermain and large sanitary sewer along Lakeshore Road between Jack Darling Memorial Park and Elmwood Avenue, and a new sanitary sewer on Wesley Avenue from Park Street to Lakeshore Road. We will also be replacing a section of watermain between Ibar Way and Shawnmarr Road. For more information on the project, visit our project webpage.
To complete this work, a working compound (construction site) will be set up on the northeast side of Lakeshore Road and Elmwood Avenue North intersection, within the public parking lot. This compound is essential for tunnelling and installing both the new large sewer and watermain along Lakeshore Road.
Please note:
- The parking lot on Elmwood Avenue North and parking spaces on Lakeshore Road adjacent to the compound will be closed.
- The compound location and parking impacts are shown on the attached map.
We anticipate starting to set up the working compound as early as May 11, 2026, and will require it to remain in place until Fall 2028. These dates are approximate and may change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.
