Project 18-1357 – August 5, 2026 update
Streets affected: Queen Street West from McLaughlin Road to West Street
Road Paving
As part of the Flow | Central Brampton Program, Peel Region will be repairing the road where it was affected by our recent watermain construction. Thank you for your cooperation while we finish this work.
Schedule
We expect road paving activities to take place on Queen Street West from just east of McLaughlin Road to east of West Street on Thursday, August 13, 2026.
Road paving may be delayed due to weather conditions, as it cannot take place when the ground is saturated with water, or the temperature is below 3°C. If that occurs, the backup paving date is Friday, August 14, 2026.
Traffic Impacts
Paving operations are anticipated to begin on the north side of Queen Street West, between McLaughlin Road and West Drive. During this phase, the south side of Queen Street will remain open, with one lane of traffic maintained in each direction.
Once the north side paving is complete, traffic will be shifted to the newly paved north side, and paving operations will proceed on the south side of Queen Street between McLaughlin Road and West Drive. Throughout this phase, one lane of traffic will continue to be maintained in each direction.
As paving operations progress along Queen Street West, the following side streets will be partially closed between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. to facilitate paving activities:
- Mercer Drive
- Haggert Avenue
- McMurchy Avenue
- West Street
Access will be maintained where possible; however, temporary delays and restrictions may be experienced as paving work advances through the area. We appreciate your patience and cooperation during these construction activities.
Driveway access and parking
Driveways on Queen Street West will not be accessible from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 13th. We have arranged for alternative parking on West Street, Elliott Street, Jessie Street and Haggert Avenue South with the City of Brampton until this work is completed. All other parking laws remain in place, including proper clearance from hydrants and stop signs. If you need to use your driveway during these hours or have any special accommodation you require, call the Project Ambassador, Avalon Myers at 416-457-3889.
Construction safety
Construction zones require extra caution to keep everyone safe. Be aware of your surroundings when driving, walking, or biking near the construction area. Watch for construction crews and other road users, slow down, and consider other routes. Learn more about how to stay safe in construction zones.
