Streets affected: Queen Street West and McLaughlin Road intersection
Temporary road closure
As part of the Flow | Central Brampton Program, Peel Region has been installing new watermains and services along Queen Street West. This work is required to keep providing you with high-quality water services to this growing community.
At this stage, a temporary road closure is required to safely complete the reconstruction work at the intersection of Queen Street West and McLaughlin Road.
Schedule
Road reconstruction, milling and paving activities have commenced on Queen Street West. During this next phase of construction, we will need to temporarily close the intersection of Queen Street West and McLaughlin Road. The intersection will be closed from Friday, July 17 at 8 p.m. to Monday, July 20 at 5 a.m..
These activities may be delayed due to weather. If that occurs, the closure will take place the following weekend, from Friday, July 24 at 8 p.m. to Monday, July 27 at 5 a.m.
Traffic impacts
- The intersection of Queen Street West and McLaughlin Road will be closed to all through traffic. This closure will take place from Friday, July 17 at 8 p.m. to Monday, July 20 at 5 a.m.
- A detour route will be clearly marked with signs. Refer to the attached map for the detour route. The road will be closed to all traffic and no on-street parking will be allowed.
During this time, traffic will be directed by police officers.
We apologize for any delays or inconvenience resulting from these traffic impacts.
Transit impacts
- Routes 1/1A Queen Street West, 3/3A McLaughlin Road, and 57 Charolais Boulevard will be on detour for the duration of the intersection closure.
- All bus stops at the intersection and in close proximity to Queen Street West & McLaughlin Road will be temporarily closed.
- Please visit bramptontransit.com for further details regarding detour routing and temporary bus stop closures, which will be posted during the week of July 13.
Pedestrian impacts
Please follow our posted signage for any pedestrian impacts around the intersection.
