Project 18-1357 and 14-4830 - July 6, 2026 update
Streets affected: Queen Street West and McLaughlin Road intersection
Project update
As part of the Flow | Central Brampton Program, Peel Region has been installing new watermains and services along Queen Street West. This work is required to keep providing you with high-quality water services to this growing community.
At this stage, a temporary road closure is required to safely complete the reconstruction work at the intersection of Queen Street West and McLaughlin Road. Under the City of Brampton Noise Bylaw, work is permitted to occur continuously, for 24 hours a day, throughout the weekend of July 17 to help reduce the impact of construction activities.
Schedule
This continuous work is expected to take place from Friday, July 17 at 8 p.m. to Monday, July 20 at 5 a.m.
Traffic impacts
The intersection of Queen Street West and McLaughlin Road will be closed to all through traffic. This closure will take place from Friday, July 17 at 8 p.m. to Monday, July 20 at 5 a.m.
A detour route will be clearly marked with signs. Please see the attached map for the detour route. During this time, traffic will be directed by police officers.
We apologize for any delays or inconvenience resulting from these traffic impacts.
Noise
We do not expect significant noise or vibrations above normal daytime construction levels during this time. Efforts will be made to reduce impacts to local residents.
Construction safety
Construction zones require extra caution to keep everyone safe. Be aware of your surroundings when driving, walking, or biking near the construction area. Watch for construction crews and other road users, slow down, and consider other routes. Learn more about how to stay safe in construction zones.
