Project 16-2291 - November 1, 2022 update
Streets affected: Creditview Road, Old Creditview Road, Old Derry Road, and Derry Road East
November 1, 2022
The Region of Peel will be working to install a large sanitary sewer pipe along Creditview Road, Old Creditview Road, Old Derry Road, and Derry Road East, as shown in the attached maps. Sanitary sewers are underground pipes that carry wastewater from your home to a wastewater treatment plant. Wastewater is created when water goes down the drain or is flushed down the toilet. As pipes age and our population grows, we need to replace older sewers to keep providing high quality wastewater services to you.
Project details
The work will be completed by Technicore Underground Inc. under contract to the Region of Peel. This work will be completed underground in a tunnel, and will not require digging trenches in your neighbourhood. Above ground construction activities will be mainly limited to a few fenced areas which will provide access for the tunneling equipment to enter the tunnel. For this construction project, five large access points will be created for the tunnel along the construction route, located at:
- The northeast corner of Argentia Road and Creditview Road,
- Southeast of where Old Creditview Road meets Creditview Road,
- The southeast corner of Derry Road West and Mavis Road,
- The northeast corner of Derry Road East and Dixie Road,
- The northeast corner of Derry Road East and Bramalea Road
Please see the attached maps for the specific locations of these access points.
Construction schedule
Construction is planned to begin November 9, 2022 and be completed by the end of 2026.

Working hours
The City of Mississauga, under the Noise Bylaw, is allowing tunneling work to be carried out by our contractor continuously, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This 24/7 work will begin on December 1, 2022 and it is anticipated to be completed by November 30, 2026. Continuous operations reduce the amount of time your area is under construction, and the related impacts to the community. During this time, we do not anticipate there to be significant noise. Efforts will be made to reduce impacts to local residents by restricting the delivery and removal of materials to the hours of 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Traffic impacts
We may need to temporarily close roads or reduce traffic to a single lane during construction. If we must reroute traffic, we will place signs giving directions.
Safety during construction
Construction zones require extra caution to keep everyone safe – pedestrians, cyclists, drivers, and construction workers. When driving, walking, or biking through the construction area, please be aware of your surroundings, watch for construction crews and other road users, slow down, account for delays, and consider other routes if possible. Learn more about how to stay safe in construction zones.
Keeping you informed
We will let you know if there are any major changes to the plans. Information on this project can also be found on the project webpage.
Thank you for your patience as we complete this necessary work. This work will allow us to continue providing you with high quality wastewater services. If you have any questions, please contact us.
