Streets affected: Old School Road from Dixie Road to approximately 200 metres east of Dixie Road
Temporary road closure
As part of the Flow | South Caledon Program, Peel Region has been installing a new watermain and sanitary sewer along Old School Road and Dixie Road. This work is required to keep providing you with high-quality water services.
At this stage, a temporary road closure will be required to safely complete this work.
Traffic impacts
- Old School Road will be closed to all through traffic from Dixie Road to approximately 200 metres east of Dixie Road starting Tuesday, July 21, 2026, for approximately one month. Detour routes will be clearly marked with signs. Please see the attached map for the detour routes.
- All eastbound traffic on Old School Road will be required to turn left or right onto Dixie Road and follow the posted detour signs to reach Bramalea Road. Northbound and southbound traffic lanes will remain open on Dixie Road.
- Local traffic travelling to properties on Old School Road between Dixie Road and Bramalea Road will be permitted access to their homes via Bramalea Road. Please note that eastbound travel through the closure is not possible, as a barricade is located approximately 200 metres east of Dixie Road.
- Non-local traffic will not be permitted within the closure area and must follow the signed detour routes via Mayfield Road and King Street.
During this time, the onsite contractor will guide emergency service vehicles through the closure via Bramalea Road.

Construction zones require extra caution to keep everyone safe. Be aware of your surroundings when driving, walking, or biking near the construction area. Watch for construction crews and other road users, slow down, and consider other routes. Visit work zone safety for more information.
