Project 10-1210 C3 – July 6, 2026
Streets affected: Heart Lake Road from Old School Road to approximately 800 metres north of Old School Road
Temporary road closure
As part of the Flow | South Caledon Program, Peel Region has been installing new watermains along Heart Lake Road. This work is required to keep providing you with high-quality water services to the community.
At this stage, a temporary road closure will be required to safely complete this work.
Traffic impacts
- Heart Lake Road will be closed to all through traffic from Old School Road to approximately 800 metres north of Old School Road from Monday, July 13, 2026, until October 2026. A detour route will be clearly marked with signs. Please see the attached map for the detour route.
- Local traffic travelling to properties within the closure limits (up to approximately 800 metres north of Old School Road) will be permitted access via Old School Road. Please note that northbound travel through the closure is not possible, as a barricade is located approximately 800 metres north of Old School Road. Motorists travelling to destinations north of the barricade must use King Street to access Heart Lake Road.
- Non-local traffic will not be permitted within the closure area and must follow the signed detour route via King Street.
- Northbound traffic on Heart Lake Road will not be able to continue straight through the intersection at Old School Road. All northbound through traffic will be required to turn left onto Old School Road and follow the posted detour. These traffic restrictions will take place from Monday, July 13, 2026, until October 2026.
During this time, traffic will be directed by contractor staff. The onsite contractor will guide emergency service vehicles through the closure.
Construction safety
Construction zones require extra caution to keep everyone safe. Be aware of your surroundings when driving, walking, or biking near the construction area. Watch for construction crews and other road users, slow down, and consider other routes. Learn more about how to stay safe in construction zones.
