Project 10-1205 C5 – January 27, 2026 update
Area affected: Burnhamthorpe Valve Chamber Compound
Project update
Peel Region has been working in your area on major upgrades to the Hanlan watermains, part of Peel’s most critical infrastructure.
Due to unexpected delays, construction is now expected to finish by the end of February, with full restoration planned for mid-2026.
As construction on the chamber enters its final phase, residents may experience increased noise and vibration from the Burnhamthorpe work site located in the park north of Burnhamthorpe Road East. Efforts will be made to reduce impacts to local residents.
Construction schedule
The construction activities that will generate more noise and vibration are planned to start the week of February 2, 2026, and finish the week of February 16, 2026. These dates may change due to weather and other unexpected events. All work is warrantied for two years from the completion date.
Contractor working hours
The work will be completed by Clearway Construction under contract to Peel Region. Working hours are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Friday. These hours are consistent with local municipal bylaws and help shorten the amount of time construction is in your area.
Construction safety
Construction zones require extra caution to keep everyone safe. Be aware of your surroundings when driving, walking, or biking near the construction area. Watch for construction crews and other road users, slow down, and consider other routes. Learn more about how to stay safe in construction zones.
