Project 10-1205 C5 – April 7, 2025 update
Streets affected: Corbet Drive from Burnhamthorpe Road East to Ibis Court
Notice of noise by-law exemption and temporary road closure
Peel Region has been working in your area on major upgrades to the Hanlan watermains, part of Peel's most critical infrastructure.
Traffic impacts
We will need to temporarily close Corbet Drive from Burnhamthorpe Road East to Ibis Court again due to unforeseen issues during our last road closure. This closure will occur from Monday, April 14 until Wednesday, April 16, 2025. Road signs will clearly mark the detour route, and the attached map also shows the detour route. No on-street parking will be allowed.
Schedule
Under the Noise Bylaw, the City of Mississauga is allowing overnight work to be done by our contractor.
This continuous overnight work will take place 24 hours a day on Corbet Drive from Burnhamthorpe Road East to Ibis Court starting Monday, April 14 at 6 a.m. until it is completed on Wednesday, April 16, 2025. Additional nights may be required due to unpredictable delays, such as poor weather conditions.
This work also requires a temporary road closure for the installation of a watermain.
Noise
We don’t anticipate significant noise or vibrations above normal daytime construction levels during these operations. Efforts will be made to reduce impacts as much as possible to area residents.
Safety during construction
Construction zones require extra caution to keep everyone safe - pedestrians, cyclists, drivers, and construction workers. When driving, walking, or biking through the construction area, please be aware of your surroundings, watch for construction crews and other road users, slow down, account for delays, and consider other routes if possible. Learn more about how to stay safe in construction zones.
