Notice of virtual Public Information Centre No. 1 - October 22, 2025
Background
Peel Region is undertaking a Master Plan Study for its groundwater-based systems, located in the Town of Caledon. Peel owns and operates four (4) groundwater-based drinking water systems that supply drinking water to several communities in the Town of Caledon.
The Master Plan Study will identify long-term drinking water servicing strategies and infrastructure needed to support projected growth and planned development in the serviced areas, consistent with the 2051 Official Plan. The Project Study Area boundary is illustrated in Figure 1.
Study area
Although the Study Area encompasses much of north Peel, the Master Plan specifically focuses on the four (4) existing municipal groundwater-based drinking water systems (DWS), including:
- Alton Village, Caledon Village, Mono Mills, McCleodville, and Skywood Park are serviced by the Caledon Village/Alton DWS
- Cheltenham and Terra Cotta are serviced by the Cheltenham DWS
- Inglewood Village is serviced by the Inglewood DWS
- Albion, Mono Road, Cedar Mills, Centreville and Palgrave Estates are serviced by the Palgrave/Caledon East DWS
The process
The Master Plan Study will follow Approach 1 for Master Plans of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) Process (February 2024), an approved framework under the Environmental Assessment Act. The study will complete Phases 1 and 2 of the Class EA process.
Virtual Public Information Centre (PIC)
Public input is an important part of this study. We will be holding two virtual public meetings, called Public Information Centres (PICs), where residents can learn about the project, ask questions and share feedback. Each PIC session will feature a live presentation followed by a Question & Answer session. This notice advises the public of the first round of PICs, which will be held virtually.
