Project 23-2300 B – April 7, 2026 update
Street affected: Victoria Crescent
Notice of restoration
As part of the Flow | Central Brampton Program, Peel Region will be repairing sod (grass), following the replacement of the sanitary sewer along Victoria Crescent.
Restoration schedule
Restoration work will start in mid-April 2026 on Victoria Crescent. We plan to complete all work by May 2026, weather permitting.
Restoration will begin with sod replacement. This will take approximately 6 weeks. Please note that repairs may be delayed due to contractor availability or weather conditions. For example:
- Most sod farms are located north of Peel. They usually have sod available starting in late May. We’ll replace the sod on your property once it is available.
- In summer, we may need to postpone sod replacement due to hot, dry weather.
- We replace sod only until the middle of November, weather permitting, to let the sod grow roots. If we do not repair your lawn by the middle of November, we’ll replace the sod the following spring.
Contractor working hours
The work will be completed by Alwahesh Contracting Inc. under contract to Peel Region. Working hours are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Friday. These hours are consistent with local municipal bylaws and help shorten the amount of time construction is in your area.
Construction safety
Construction zones require extra caution to keep everyone safe. Be aware of your surroundings when driving, walking, or biking near the construction area. Watch for construction crews and other road users, slow down, and consider other routes. Learn more about how to stay safe in construction zones.
In-ground sprinkler systems
If the area in front of your business was affected by construction, in-ground sprinkler lines may be impacted during the upcoming restoration work. We strongly recommend moving any sprinkler lines in the municipal right-of-way or next to the sidewalk. The municipal right-of-way includes the street and the municipal- owned land between the street and the water service box, a small, round, metal valve located outside on the property line between your home or business and the road.
If you cannot move these sprinkler lines, send us your irrigation map or flag each sprinkler head within one meter of the sidewalk, curb, or driveway. This will allow us to minimize the impact to your sprinkler system.
Replacing grassy areas
The contractor will replace any damaged sod on the boulevard or your front lawn and will take care of it for 30 days. You can help the sod stay healthy by watering it. A longer watering works better than watering more frequently for a shorter time. Early morning watering allows more water to soak in.
Warranty on construction repairs
All work is warrantied for two years from the completion date.
It is normal for repaired areas to settle. Let us know if you notice large potholes forming where the driveway, street, or lawn was repaired, and we’ll ensure these are fixed before the warranty period ends. Once the warranty period is over, Peel is no longer responsible for fixing potholes or dead sod in these locations.
