Early childhood professionals shape futures

Peel Region Council recognizes October 21, 2026, as Child Care Worker and Early Childhood Educator Day in Peel. This recognition shows our strong commitment to EarlyON, licensed child care, and Peel Inclusion Resource Services (PIRS) professionals.

To recognize your invaluable service, on October 21 you’ll see our appreciation flag flying proudly in front of Peel Region’s main office buildings in Brampton and Mississauga.

On that day, those same buildings will be lit up in blue to celebrate Child Care Worker and Early Childhood Educator Appreciation Day.

We’re also asking our municipal partners in Brampton, Mississauga, and Caledon to show their appreciation by lighting their clock towers or raising the campaign flag at their city or town hall on October 21.

Licensed child care and EarlyON programs are important for Peel’s social and economic well-being, and we need child care workers and early childhood educators. Thank you for helping children and families access, learn and grow in safe, inclusive, and engaging spaces across Peel. Your role is essential to our community and your impact is lasting.
