Membership applications for the Peel Agricultural Advisory Working Group

Help inform policies and programs that affect Peel's agricultural community.

Peel Region is seeking submissions from members of the public to serve in a voluntary capacity on the Peel Agricultural Advisory Working Group (PAAWG).

The following positions are available:

Peel citizen-at-large (3 members)
Representative of a Peel agricultural society or other special agricultural interest group (2 members)
Representative of a Peel youth organization or alternative representative of the agricultural community (1 member)

This group will advise Peel Region Council on topics involving the farming industry and agricultural community and assist in implementing relevant Region policies and programs.

Members will be appointed for a term of 4 years, from 2026 to 2030.

To apply, an applicant must:

Have rural or agricultural qualifications and interests.
Experience and willingness to liaise with the range of agencies and organizations represented on PAAWG.
Have the capacity and willingness to devote the necessary time to PAAWG.
Be a qualified elector in Peel Region pursuant to the Municipal Elections Act, 1996 (a Canadian Citizen, 18 years of age or older and a resident/tenant or owner of land in Peel Region) or be a qualified elector in Ontario representing a group or organization that acts on behalf of members of the agricultural sector who reside in Peel.
Not be an elected official of Peel Regional Council or of the council of a Peel area municipality.
Not be an employee of the Peel Region, Town of Caledon, City of Brampton, or City of Mississauga.
