Sanitary sewer relining project

Truscott Drive, Central Parkway West, Queen Victoria Avenue and Airport Road. Project: 20-2300_C

The Region of Peel will be working in your neighbourhood to rehabilitate the existing sanitary sewer system on Truscott Drive, Central Parkway West, Queen Victoria Avenue and Airport Road. Sanitary sewers are underground pipes that carry wastewater from your home to a wastewater treatment plant. Wastewater is created when water is flushed down the toilet, or goes down the drain in your sink, tub, or shower.

Some upcoming work will take place overnight and over the weekend in order to reduce the impact on local businesses and minimize traffic impacts.

This overnight work will occur at the Central Parkway West and Burhamthorpe Rd West intersection. Weekend work will occur at Airport Road between Beverley Street to just south of Ripon Street. We apologize in advance for any inconveniences caused by this work. Please note that work on Truscott Drive and Queen Victoria Avenue are during normal working hours. No overnight and weekend work will occur for these sites

Schedule

The City of Mississauga, under the Noise Bylaw, is allowing work to be carried by our contractor overnight and weekend.

For Central Parkway West, this overnight work is expected to take place during the week for multiple weeks intermittently, from July 10, 2023, to September 10, 2023. Additional nights may be required due to unpredictable delays, such as poor weather conditions.

For Airport Road, the weekend work is expected to take place during the weekends from July 14, 2023, to September 22, 2023. Additional weekends may be required due to unpredictable delays, such as poor weather conditions.

Traffic impacts

This work will require some lane closure along Central Parkway West near and through the Burhamthorpe Road West intersection, including Airport Road from Beverley Street to Ripon Street. However, the work will be phased to minimize disruption to traffic. At least one lane will be open in each direction during this work.

Noise

We do not anticipate significant noise or vibrations above normal daytime construction levels during these operations. Noise will be limited to vacuum trucks, pumps, generators, air compressors, etc. Efforts will be made to reduce impacts to local residents as much as possible through the use of acoustically silenced equipment (where applicable).

Safety during construction

Construction zones require extra caution to keep everyone safe – pedestrians, cyclists, drivers, and construction workers. When driving, walking, or biking through the construction area, please be aware of your surroundings, watch for construction crews and other road users, slow down, account for delays, and consider other routes if possible.
