Road paving

Alderbury Crescent and Alexandria Crescent. Project 21-2300B

Peel Region will complete road resurfacing on Alderbury and Alexandria where it was disturbed by our recent sanitary sewer construction. We apologize for any inconvenience. Thank you for your cooperation while we finish this work.

Schedule

We expect road paving activities to take place as early as October 17, 2023, beginning on Alexandria Crescent. We will then proceed to Alderbury Crescent. We expect the work to be completed by October 31, 2023. If this schedule changes by more than 4 days, we will update you with an additional notice.

Road paving activities may be delayed due to weather conditions, as paving cannot take place when the ground is saturated with water, or the temperature is below 7°C.

Contractor and working hours

The work will be completed by Fermar Paving Ltd. under contract to Peel Region. This contractor’s normal working hours are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Friday. These hours are consistent with the local municipality’s bylaws. We understand this may cause some inconvenience, but shorter working days would require your neighbourhood to be under construction for a longer period of time.

Parking and driveway access

Please do not park on the street from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. when paving is scheduled for your street. Please ensure the road is cleared of vehicles (and any type of materials) at these times.

While your street is being paved, you may not have access to your driveway for a short time. As the paving work approaches your home, it is recommended to park on another street.

To provide an alternate parking location, we have arranged for a street parking enforcement exemption from the City of Brampton for Alexandria Crescent, Alderbury Crescent, and Autumn Boulevard (reminder to not park on Alexandria or Alderbury when paving is taking place on each street). This exemption is valid until November 30, 2023. Please note that all other parking laws remain in place, including proper clearance from hydrants and stop signs.

Traffic impacts

We will need to reduce traffic to a single lane during paving activities. Work will be phased to minimize traffic disruption in the area. If we must reroute traffic, we will place signs giving directions.

Safety during construction

Construction zones require extra caution to keep everyone safe – pedestrians, cyclists, drivers, and construction workers. When driving, walking, or biking through the construction area, please be aware of your surroundings, watch for construction crews and other road users, slow down, account for delays, and consider other routes if possible.
