Sanitary sewer replacement and improvement
Tullamore Road at Kennedy Road South (Regional Road 16). Project 19-2300_E
The Region of Peel has been working in your neighbourhood to replace the aging sanitary sewer along Tullamore Road. This work is required to maintain and improve existing wastewater services.
At this stage in the project, lane closures on Kennedy Road South, and road closure(s) on Tullamore Road will be required to complete the asphalt restoration works.
Traffic Impacts
- Kennedy Road South (Regional Road 16) will have lane closures on Friday June 2, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to complete paving works, and will be opened back up once the work is completed.
- Tullamore Road will be closed to incoming and outgoing traffic at the intersection of Kennedy Road South. Vehicles will be able to access Tullamore Road from the west end of the street. This temporary road closure will take place on Friday June 2, 2023, from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. When the work is complete, the road closure will cease, and traffic will be allowed to drive through the work zone.
- During this closure, a detour route will be clearly marked with road signs.
- Residents who live on the closed portion of Tullamore Road will have access to their homes and businesses.
- While this work is underway, there will be no on-street parking.
- Garbage pickup and routing will not be affected by this closure.
Bus Stop
The City of Brampton Bus Stops will be temporarily relocated for the same timeframe noted above as follows:
- The southbound bus stop at 133 Kennedy Road South will be relocated approximately 100m north from its current location.
- The northbound bus stop at 134 Kennedy Road South will be relocated approximately 35m south from its current location.
- City of Brampton Transit will install and remove the temporary bus stop signage.
Temporary road closures for road paving
- If the work cannot all be completed on Friday June 2, 2023, Tullamore Road will be temporarily closed on June 5, 2023, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. to complete the various second stage of paving works.
- During this time, traffic will be directed by flag persons. Emergency service vehicles and school buses will be permitted to cross through the closure with guidance from the onsite contractor.
- Residents who live on the street will have access to their homes.
These road closures and lane reductions may cause traffic delays. We ask for your patience and will try to minimize any delays.
