Sanitary Sewer Replacement and Improvement
Dixie Road at Crescent Hill Drive South. Project 19-2300E
The Region of Peel has been working in your neighbourhood to replace the aging sanitary sewer along Crescent Hill Drive South. This work is required to maintain and improve existing wastewater services.
At this stage in the project, we need to install a sewer pipe along Dixie Road to connect the new sewer at the intersection of Crescent Hill Drive South. Following that, we will need to install new sewer pipes under the middle of the roadway along Crescent Hill Drive South. A temporary road closure will be required to complete this work.
Traffic impacts
Crescent Hill Drive South will be closed to incoming and outgoing traffic at the intersection of Dixie Road. Vehicles will be able to access Crescent Hill Drive South via Crescent Hill Drive North. This temporary road closure will take place on weekdays from January 16 to March 10, 2023 during the working hours of 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. When the work is completed each day, the road closure will cease, and traffic will be allowed to drive through the work zone.
- During this closure, a detour route will be clearly marked with road signs. Please see the attached map for the detour route.
- Residents who live on the closed portion of Crescent Hill Drive South will have access to their homes.
- While this work is underway, there will be no on-street parking.
- Garbage pickup and routing will not be affected by this closure.
This road closure may cause traffic delays. We ask for your patience and will try to minimize any delays.
Transit impacts
To complete this work, it will be necessary to temporarily relocate the following bus stops on January 16 and January 17 during the working hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.:
- The City of Brampton bus stop located at the southeast corner of Dixie Road and Crescent Hill Drive South will be temporarily relocated to the hydro pole on Dixie Road approximately 65 meters south of the existing bus stop. City of Brampton Transit will install and remove the temporary bus stop signage.
