The Regional Municipality of Peel
By-law number 17-2022

A by-law to reduce the posted speed limits and designate the community safety zones on Regional Road 9 (King Street) and Regional Road 50 (Queen Street); and to amend By-law Number 15-2013 being a by-law to regulate traffic on roads under the jurisdiction of The Regional Municipality of Peel.

Whereas, the Council of the Regional Corporation on the 24th day of January, 2013 passed By-law 15-2013 to consolidate the by-laws that regulate traffic on roads under the jurisdiction of The Regional Municipality of Peel;

And whereas, the Council of The Regional Municipality of Peel has by resolution on the 24th day of March, 2022, authorized the enactment of a by-law to amend By-law 15-2013 to reduce the posted speed limits to 40 kilometers per hour on Regional Road 9 (King Street) from 10 metres east of James Street to 15 metres west of Jane Street and Regional Road 50 (Queen Street) from 10 metres south of Downey Drive / William Street to 50 metres north of Centennial Drive (south leg);

And whereas, the Council of The Regional Municipality of Peel has by resolution on the 24th day of March, 2022, authorized the enactment of a by-law to amend By-law 15-2013 to reduce the posted speed limits to 50 kilometers per hour on Regional Road 9 (King Street) from the boundary between the Region of York and the Region of Peel to 400 metres west of Albion Vaughan Road, Regional Road 9 (King Street) from 385 metres west of the Connaught Crescent (west leg) to Regional Road 150 (Coleraine Drive), and Regional Road 50 (Queen Street) from 50 metres north of Centennial Drive (south leg) to 100 metres north of Columbia Way;

And whereas, the Council of The Regional Municipality of Peel has by resolution on the 24th day of March, 2022, authorized the enactment of a by-law to amend By-law 15-2013 to designate the community safety zones on Regional Road 9 (King Street) from a point located 120 metres east of Old King Road to Regional Road 150 (Coleraine Drive) and Regional Road 50 (Queen Street) from a point located 140 metres south of Ellwood Drive to a point located 140 metres north of Columbia Way;

Now therefore, the Council of the Regional Corporation enacts as follows:

1. That Part 11 of Schedule A of By-law 15-2013 is amended by deleting the following:

3. That Part 10 of Schedule A of By-law 15-2013 is amended by adding the following:
