A by-law to amend By-law 39-2025 being a by-law to establish the position and duties of the Auditor General of The Regional Municipality of Peel

Whereas, the Council of The Regional Municipality of Peel enacted By-law 39-2025 pursuant to the Municipal Act, 2001 to establish the position of Auditor General and to define certain duties and responsibilities of the Auditor General;

And whereas, the Council of the Regional Corporation wishes to amend the maximum permitted term of an appointment to the office of the Auditor General;

And whereas, the Council of the Regional Corporation has by resolution adopted on January 22^nd, authorized the enactment of the by-law herein to amend By-law 39-2025;

Now therefore, the Council of the Regional Corporation enacts as follows:

1. That By-law 39-2025 is hereby amended by deleting Section 9 and replacing it with the following:

   “9. The term of office of the Auditor General shall be as determined by Council, but shall not exceed seven years and six months.”   

    

    

2. That this by-law take effect on the 22nd day of January, 2026.
