Watermain replacement and improvement

Archdekin Drive. Projects 22-1340E

Peel Region will be repairing driveways, roads, curbs, sidewalks, and sod (grass) following the replacement of the watermain on Archdekin Drive. Please see the attached map.

Schedule

We expect paving activities to take place during June and July, 2023:

Regular working hours will be Monday to Friday between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
Road paving activities may be delayed due to weather conditions, as paving cannot take place when the ground is saturated with water, or the temperature is below 3°C.

Driveway access and parking

During driveway repairs

We may need to block your driveway for a short time during driveway paving activities.  Whenever possible, we will work to ensure businesses can be accessed.

Please avoid parking in your driveway when it is being repaired to provide maximum access to the construction crew. The construction crew will knock on your door before work on your driveway begins. If you will not be home weekdays between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. during driveway paving, please do not leave any vehicles in the driveway.

Once the driveway is repaired, it is important to avoid driving on the new asphalt for the first three hours afterwards, and to avoid parking on the new asphalt for one day.

Please email construction@peelregion.ca if you have special needs related to driveway access.

During road repairs

You may not have access to your driveway for a short time as the paving operation crosses your driveway.

Please do not park on Archdekin Drive between Rutherford Road North and Petunias Road from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. when paving is scheduled for your street. Please ensure the road is cleared of vehicles (and any type of materials) at these times.

During driveway and road repairs

To provide an alternate parking location, we have arranged for a street parking enforcement exemption from the City of Brampton for Archdekin Drive. This current exemption is valid until June 30, 2023, but will be extended until road paving work is completed in July 2023. Please note that all other parking laws remain in place, including proper clearance from hydrants and stop signs.

Traffic

We may need to reduce traffic to a single lane during paving activities. Work will be phased to minimize traffic disruption in the area. If we must reroute traffic, we will place signs giving directions.

Safety during construction

Construction zones require extra caution to keep everyone safe – pedestrians, cyclists, drivers, and construction workers. When driving, walking, or biking through the construction area, please be aware of your surroundings, watch for construction crews and other road users, slow down, account for delays, and consider other routes if possible.
