Notice of Peel 2041 Regional Official Plan Open House – Informal Open House Meeting – Consultation on Draft Regional Official Plan Policies

Peel Region is growing – we are planning to welcome more than 500,000 new residents and add over 250,000 new jobs by 2041. We are seeking feedback from stakeholders, partners, Indigenous communities, and residents with the objective of supporting the development of healthy, complete communities that meet individuals’ need throughout their lifetime.

Please attend the open house to provide your input on future policies that will guide how your community grows. The Regional Official Plan Review is being undertaken to ensure that official plan policies stay current with provincial plans and reflect regional and local needs.

Purpose of Informal Open House Public Consultation

Draft official plan policies and related mapping updates to the Regional Official Plan will be available for the following areas:

• Agricultural and Rural Systems
• Climate Change
• Provincial Greenbelt Plans Conformity (including the Greenbelt Plan, Oak Ridges Moraine Conservation Plan, and Niagara Escarpment Plan)
• Water Resources
• Wildland Fire Hazards

Regional staff will also provide information on ongoing and upcoming studies included in the Peel 2041 work plan, including:

• Aggregate Resources
• Greenlands System
• Growth Management
• Housing
• Major Transit Station Areas
• Settlement Area Boundary Expansion
• Transportation
