The Region of Peel will hold a public open house and statutory public meeting on the proposed Mayfield West Phase 2 Stage 2 Settlement Area Boundary Expansion Regional Official Plan Amendment (ROPA 34), pursuant to Sections 17 and 26 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, Chapter P.13 as amended.

Purpose and Effect of the Mayfield West Phase 2 Stage 2 Settlement Expansion - ROPA Number 34

The purpose and effect of the Mayfield West Phase 2 Stage 2 Settlement Expansion ROPA 34 is to include the subject lands in the Mayfield West Rural Service Centre Boundary of the Region of Peel Official Plan. This would result in an expansion of approximately 105 hectares of developable lands, which were originally planned as part of the overall Mayfield West Phase 2 community.

Mayfield West Phase 2 was split into Stage 1 and Stage 2, with the Stage 1 lands being included in the Mayfield West Rural Service Centre through a previous settlement boundary expansion Regional Official Plan Amendment (ROPA 29) in 2014 and ROPA 34 is now proposing to include the Stage 2 lands. The amendment also provides an updated policy framework to guide further planning review on the Mayfield West Phase 2 Stage 2 lands.

The open house will provide the public with an opportunity to review the draft ROPA 34, ask questions of staff and provide comments. The statutory public meeting will provide the public with an opportunity to make representations before Regional Council in respect of the proposed Mayfield West Phase 2 Stage 2 Settlement Area Boundary Expansion ROPA.

Any person may attend the open house and statutory public meeting and/or provide written or verbal representation on the proposed Mayfield West Phase 2 Stage 2 Settlement Expansion. If you wish to speak at the public meeting or provide written

Location of Subject Lands

The Mayfield West Phase 2 Stage 2 lands are in the Town of Caledon and includes the area bounded by Chinguacousy to the west, Hurontario to the east, part of Mayfield Road to the south, and Etobicoke Creek to the north. The Mayfield West Phase 2 Stage 2 lands are located abutting the Stage 1 lands.

If you wish to be notified of the decision of the Council of The Regional Municipality of Peel on the proposed official plan amendment, you must make a written request to Kathryn Lockyer, Director and Regional Clerk at:

If a person or public body would otherwise have an ability to appeal the decision of the Council of The Regional Municipality of Peel to the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal but the person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to The Regional Municipality of Peel before the proposed official plan amendment is adopted, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision.

If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to The Regional Municipality of Peel before the proposed official plan amendment is adopted, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party.
