Davinder Valeri named among Top 25 CFOs in Toronto
Brampton, ON (May 15, 2024) – Davinder Valeri, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Commissioner of Corporate Services, has been recognized as one of the Top 25 CFOs in Toronto by The Top CFOs. This recognition highlights Davinder's exceptional leadership and contributions to financial management, business transformation, and sustainability.
The Top CFOs recognizes a pivotal role of CFOs in Toronto’s economy as they steer the financial operations of major organizations. Davinder's innovative approach and forward-thinking strategies have been instrumental in driving Peel's success as one of the fastest-growing municipalities in North America. In her role, Davinder is responsible for ensuring Peel remains financially sustainable while continuing to deliver a suite of cost-effective, value-add and responsive business services to support the organization.
Prior to joining Peel, Davinder held key positions at prominent organizations, including the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada, KPMG LLP, and Ontario Power Generation. As the Executive Director at Accounting for Sustainability (A4S) Canada, Davinder led groundbreaking research initiatives on emerging issues related to technology, economy, sustainability, finance, strategy and risk and their impact on society, business and governments.
Davinder also managed large private and public CFOs to incorporate sustainability into everyday decision-making and led the A4S network of CFOs in Canada and abroad to address global finance challenges.
Celebrated for her expertise in energy and sustainability, Davinder was profiled as one of 100 women in Canada by Women in energy transformation (Pembina and WiRE).
