Located in the heart of a well-established residential community known as Park Royal, Sheridan Villa has more than 40 years of experience in caring for the Peel community.
Sheridan Villa been recently renovated into a 142-bed modern home for residents and Adult Day Service clients.
Sheridan Villa’s resident home areas are spacious, bright and welcoming. Each area has its own dining room, a designated space for activities, a lounge and a terrace.
A greenhouse, spacious lobby with a café, tuck shop and numerous cozy seating areas are welcoming features of the main floor.
A therapeutic garden on the south side of the building has raised flower and vegetable beds, a water fountain, herb garden and gazebo. It’s the perfect place for residents to relax in the summer and participate in horticultural activities. Sheridan Villa's outdoor garden provides a safe environment for residents with dementia.
Special Behaviour Support Unit
The Special Behaviour Support Unit (SBSU) is a 19-bed unit within Sheridan Villa for clients who have a primary diagnosis of dementia with significant behaviours that cannot be managed in the client's current environment. It is a transitional treatment unit and not intended to be a resource for emergency treatment.
Resident and Family Councils
The Resident Council meets monthly to provide a forum for residents to discuss concerns and make suggestions for improvements in their quality of life within the home.
The Family Council meets on a monthly basis to bring forward questions or concerns related to resident care. It is an opportunity for family members to meet and become part of the Sheridan Villa community.
Early Years Program
Sheridan Villa has developed several partnerships with local organizations. The Early Years Program operates the Parents and Tots centre on the first floor every weekday morning. Residents often visit to interact with children and participate in activities together. Local schools and entertainers also visit frequently to perform for residents at special events and celebrations.
Administrator Marianne Klein
Marianne became the Administrator at Sheridan Villa in October 2017. Before joining Sheridan Villa, she was the Administrator at North York General Hospital, Seniors’ Health Centre, a Sienna Senior Living managed home. Marianne was previously the Executive Director at Woodbridge Care Community for six years and has spent her career in the senior’s sector including adult day service, research, volunteer services, quality improvement and risk management.
Marianne’s career has been dedicated to Seniors Care and she studied Social Services, Gerontology, Healthcare Management and most recently is enrolled in a Masters of Public Health program. Marianne has been the recipient of The Alzheimer’s Society of Canada- John Carrier Award for Academic Excellence as well as the Masonic Foundation of Ontario Award of Excellence. In her career, she has built and maintained strong professional relationships with the Local Health Integration Networks and is also a Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) Accreditation Surveyor.
