Watermain Discharge
Squire Ellis Drive at McVean Drive, Brampton
The Region of Peel has been working in your neighborhood to install new watermains along Mayfield Road. This work is required to maintain and improve existing water services.
Our Contractor has completed most of the watermain installation and is now ready to begin pressure testing, cleaning, and disinfecting the watermain before it is put into service.To help clean it, we will flush water through the new watermain. During flushing activities, water will flow on Squire Ellis Drive to a catch basin located just east of McVean Drive, as shown on the attached map.Our Contractor will be monitoring the water flow and will make every effort to control the flow to minimize the amount of water on the road, however you may find some water ponding on the road during the testing and cleaning operations.This is normal and there is no need to be concerned. We plan to flush the new watermain during the week of October 24, 2022.Traffic impacts
If you are driving in your car and you see water on the road in this location, you may drive through it slowly without any cause for concern. The water will only be a couple inches deep closer to the curb and gutter. Please drive slowly to avoid splashing water onto pedestrians walking on the sidewalk.Bike riders should attempt to avoid cycling through ponding water for safety reasons.Keeping you informed
